The new building has been built to match the
increase in students’ number, as the old building
laboratories & lecture hall couldn’t hold these huge numbers
of students. So it has been built to be able
to hold larger number of students so they can have better
education.
The building is formed of 8 floors & a ground floor, with 4
elevators, and large garden with a parking area in front of
the building. Ground floor: contains a computer lab with 25 computers
connected to the Internet.
1st floor: for the faculty administration (contains the
dean’s office & the vice-deans offices).
2nd floor: contains the
science park, which contains several
highly technique equipment.
3rd floor: contains the
pharmaceutics lab that can hold 80
students & also contains a double-floored lectures hall for
400 students.
4th floor: contains
pharmaceutical chemistry lab that can
hold 70 students.
5th floor: contains
pharmacognosy lab for 90 students, &
contains lectures’ hall for 300 students.
6th floor: contains the
central lab, with equipment for drug
analysis and quality control, & it also contains the
pharmacology lab that can hold 100 students.
7th floor: contains
analytical chemistry lab and a small
hall for 100 students that is used for postgraduates.
8th floor: contains the
microbiology lab, and a hall for the
staff meetings.
This building has been fully working starting the year
2003/2004. |
